Candidate Statement

Welcome to OotenWater.Com the official site of Bob Ooten, candidate for Costa Mesa Sanitary District Director

                           Vote for

           Bob Ooten

      Sanitary Engineer

                                         for

           Costa Mesa Sanitary District

The Sanitary District collects sewage and trash from Costa Mesa. I have 41 years of Sanitary Engineering experience and presently serve on the County Trash Commission. My candidacy is supported by incumbents and endorsed by former District Board Members.

Elect me: (Vote for Bob Flyer)

I will be the technical asset in Sanitation, trash recycling and trash disposal.

I am a fiscal conservative. I reduced capital costs at the Orange County Sanitation District by 20 million dollars, saving each home $20 per year.

I will increase citizen safety by enforcing the Grand Jury mandated grease ordinance to reduce restaurant-caused-sewer-overflows, a safety risk to people.

I will provide knowledge of trash recycling legislation and economical practices used by other cities.

I will provide a full report on the Standard Trash Can costs that cost us 2.4 million dollars (about $120 per household). Dan Worthington's candidate statement noted this program was free. The trash program fee rate has increased 70% the last three years to pay for the new cans and other programs.

I am listed first on your ballot. Please vote for me as one of the three candidates to be elected. My Sanitary Engineering experience and current service on the County Integrated Waste Management Commission which covers trash recycling and disposal are vital to provide cost effective environmental protection.
